Thai Sticky Rice (also known as sweet rice or glutinous rice), grown mainly in Southeast Asia and East Asia, is the most important part of all meals in the northern and northeastern regions of Thailand where people eat sticky rice in place of typical long grain or Jasmine rice. It is a large white grain that becomes translucent, shiny and extremely sticky when steamed. It is eaten by making a little ball with hands and dipping it into other dishes.
